smoke gets in your eyes by summerfield

smoke gets in your eyes

"so I smile and say
when a lovely flame dies
smoke gets in your eyes."
- 1933 J, Kern, composer; O. Harbach, lyricist

this is a song that my mother used to sing when we were little children, sometimes to put baby to sleep, or while cooking, or while cleaning. it was made popular in manila by 'the platters'.

ever since this morning, when i saw that smoke was 5+2's theme this week, the darn song just warped into an earworm all day long. believe me, i tried listening to my CD of "les miserables" and it just won't go away. so i knew it has to be exorcised and be done with it before i go to bed.

so now it's "master of the house, isn't worth my spit, comforter, philosopher and lifelong shit!"

thank you for your kind visits and comments; know that they are greatly appreciated.
Great capture of smoke. Love the silhouette in background.

I can't say I have heard the les miserables song, don't fancy those lyrics as an earworm lol. Great shot, funny how these images demand expression before sleep, many is the time I have had to get up out of bed and do the shot!

Great expression and capture! I've had songs and lyrics get stuck in my head, but I've never referred to them as an earworm!
