braved the wind at lunch time and walked down to the st. lawrence market. the snow over the last several weeks that had turned to ice had started to thaw due to the rising temperatures. the result was that sidewalks were flooded or large puddles had formed which made walking quite challenging for some pedestrians. not this lady wearing her bright yellow rainboots. what to do? pull out the camera and take a puddle shot.
cropped and used selective colouring, thanks to ribbet.
thank you for your kind visits and comments; they are truly appreciated.
@maggiemae - no, maggiemae, it's not photoshop, i use ribbet to do selective colouring. your feb 16 photo at the wine festival, for example, you cah use selective colouring. click on effects, choose 'black and white' and it will turn your photo to black and white. at the same time a colour pallette will appear on the side and your cursor will turn into a circle which is actual ly a paintbrush. you can then paint back the colours on the two friends on the grass and leave everything else in black and white. when you have a 'busy' photo like above and you want to direct your audience to a particular object or colour, selective colouring, more commonly referred to around this community as SC or sc, could be best used. thank you, maggiemae.
@axika@maggiemae - or ipiccy.com or befunky.com the only problem with picmonkey, ipiccy and befunky is that they eat your exif info. ribbet does not unless you make a collage. thank you, ladies.
@amandal - yes, ribbet is easy to use especially for simple things like sc. thank you, a.
@olivetreeann - thank you, ann. I was going to paint back on the smidgen of the traffic light on the upper left but i thought it would be overkill that way.
@678tabby - thank you, june. i wear my rain boots, too, when it's icy. i find it a lot safer to trek the ice with it, the only drawback is when it's cold, my feet get cold too fast.
