waiting for the subway train, i was struck by the how the light illuminated the empty bench. it was very cold and damp in the station with the temperature on ground at -18. a train arrived obscuring my view of the bench. when it had left, this lady was walking past the bench and into my frame. she looked at me rather incredulously but since i continued to focus on the bench even after she's gone past, her look turned to amusement.
