in the style of xavier miserachs.

another one for the artist challenge. this is actually a combination of some of xavier miserachs' barcelona photographs - the grittiness, the leading lines, the incorporation of signages or posters.

the camera was set to black and white and the mirror lock-up function was enabled. one discovery about this mirror lock-up: it's good for drive by's!

thank you for your kind visits and comments; they are greatly appreciated. i am aware that i'm behind yet again in commenting on yours although i try to comment on whatever i see on my home feed. too much work in the office, i'm editing an article for a magazine and i'm preparing for a big event next month as requested by the office. i'll tell you all about it when the preparations are nearing the final stage.
All the sales! Good look down the pavement!

This shot has a photo journalistic quality. Like the texture in the concrete and the overhead metal roofing material.

Nice one. I like how you played with bright and dark areas, signs, and the dark silhouette on background. I'm pleased about you've enjoyed Miserach's work and experimenting yourself with your own vision.

:)

@maggiemae - thank you, maggiemae.

@redy4et - i was going to clone out the trash bin but i held off. thank you, elizabeth.

@salza - thank you, sally.

@claireuk - thank you, claire.

@ziggy77 - thank you, jo. i appreciate your stopping by.

@deburahiru - thank you, deb. please check it out, he has quite a few street shots, good for practice.

@jborrases - thank you. street shots are hard to emulate and i have a hard time doing it. for this shot, the lines above reminded me of some of miserachs' alley shots. i was going to clone out the trash bin but i thought it is what gives the photo the miserachs gritty look. thanks again, you chose a great artist.

btw, you should post a reminder in the discussion as it seems the thread got lost amidst the site's format change and the other challenges going on right now.

Well done- it definitely has the Xavier feel to it. Now that I've looked over his photos and have 3 days to find a shot, it'll be pulling out the creative stops to find one I can put my twist on. Wish I'd seen them before I went shopping yesterday!
