someone woke up way early and couldn't go back to sleep. then he woke me up (and probably the neighbours, too) and told me we're off to catch a sunrise. it didn't matter that i said it was going to be cloudy this morning. he said the clouds will surely lift because it's supposed to be a clear day.
so my arse was yet again hauled off to the west end, but of course there was no sunrise. well, there was, but it was behind a heavy curtain of gray clouds. then he said might as well just feed the swans. so that was the idea all along: feed the swans. which means a shot once again of the humber bridge.
then i had the idea of him standing spread eagle right in the middle of the bridge then i'd take a picture. that was foiled when we found three photogs, poised on the rocks below, armed with great heavy cameras and tripods all aimed at the bridge. i wasn't feeling generous to share my shot with photogs i don't know, so we went on our merry way.
thank you for your kind visits and comments; know that they are truly appreciated.
It would not be a good idea to wake me up early on a day I did not have to wake up early! But that is the reason why I don't have many shots like this...
@northy - heavy clouds, didn't lift until almost noon then it was clear after that. i like bridges where you can see people walking or biking on it. just love the image. one day i'm going to get that shot i wanted, but probably not on this bridge where there's always a lot of photographers. maybe we'll do it at union station when the renos have finished. thanks, kiddo.

I am often up early, lack of sleep is a bitch!
this is a cool capture... such a fabulous bridge, isn't it?
