it has been a while since i've posted a shot of the moon, what with the rather annoyingly cold winter there was no motivation for me to stand up in the cold to shoot the moon. for the last few days we had clear skies, and i took this last night when i was down at the bridge to shoot light trails. i always use my canon powershot point and shoot whenever i shoot the moon because i always have better luck as long as i set it at the proper setting.
today and tonight, we have crappy weather and those heavy gray clouds look like they have nowhere else to go so hang around they seem. perfect opportunity to show you my moon.
there's going to be a total lunar eclipse on tuesday, folks. partner told me about it and he wants to stay up so he can take me down to the beaches to shoot. he asked me to check the time when it will happen. i haven't told him yet it occurs at three o'clock. i'm building up the hype for him first so i won't tell him until last minute.
okay, you're right, i should be nice to him. i'll buy him an early breakfast at mcdo!
Awesome shot! Keep an eye out for the lunar eclipse coming up the 14th or 15th of this month. It will be one of 4 blood moons. People are concerned that if there are 4 in a year, it will be a bad year. I hope they are wrong.
@dmortega - life is what we make it, but not for the doom sayers. as for me, i think i wll only watch the first part of the eclipse. thank you, dorrena.
@espyetta - you gotta! there should be a challenge for moon eclipse shots! thank you, MB.
@jsw0109 - thank you, jeff, also for that generous fav. much appreciated.
@amandal - thank you, a, also for that rather generous fav.
and the secret is my new manfrotto tripod! i can actually take moon shots with my nikon dslr but even with the 250mm lens, the result still looks puny. the point and shoot though can magnify 48x filling the frame practically. thanks again, everyone.
Beautiful. I hadn't heard anything about the eclipse so will have to do some research. I'm not sure if being in a different hemisphere makes a difference.
Gorgeous shot! I am looking forward to this eclipse and hope that I can work something out to get a picture of it!! I was hoping to have my new camera by now, but the wheels of estate settling turn slowly! fav
Fabulous moon shot!! Look at all that incredible detail!
Which Manfrotto tripod did you get? Mine are kind of wobbly, too, and have been thinking that it would be nice to invest in a really good one!
