it's a special father's day for partner. first i treated him to breakfast downtown. then we went to the west end to visit the swans and we ended up having a long walk. i got him some pink carnations and a card - the card cost more than the darn flowers! - plus a couple of lottery tickets. he rarely ever plays the lottery but when i gave him tickets, he gets excited about them. i shall take him to a nice dinner sometime during the week.
this morning when we were by the lake, i was taking a photo of the driftwood with the downtown skyline in the background when this little boy suddenly ran up right to the edge of the water and photobomb my shot. he just stood there, looking around. he was with his family and he wouldn't heed his father's call. when he did, he said, he wants to go sailing, why can't they have a sailboat like all the other people. and he just stood there for the longest while with his hands in his pockets, looking out to the horizon where he could see all the sailboats. at some point the family joined him by the water's edge but when they walked away, the little boy remained. see here for a closer look at the little bugger: http://365project.org/summerfield/365-again/2014-06-15
thank you for your kind visits and comments; know that they are greatly appreciated.
After reading your story Vikki I think the little boy adds so much to this photo. I also love the comment about the cost of the card. I just about flipped out when I saw the cashier ring through the card we picked up at Wal Mart last night
