this woman was outside our office building. she had her bag and her lunch with her, carefully avoided people (who were all busy on their own) and perched herself at the upper steps, opened her lunch, took a mouthful, set it down next to her on the step and continued to fiddle with her cellphone.
it is a bleak future for us when people can no longer talk face to face and use their cellphones to communicate. i see people gather in groups of two or three smoking, chatting but at the same time looking at their cellphones or ipods.
meanwhile, i forgot that my cellphone's battery as of last sunday was at 7%. i rarely ever use it so i rarely ever see it.
thank you for your kind visits; know that they are genuinely appreciated.
re yesterday's photo of a cluster of buds. sadly, we may never know what it was as the garden's been ravaged by the heavy downpour this afternoon. toink!
Every picture tells a story and certainly this one tells one story of our age. How strange that a device intended to get us together has done the polar opposite. Great capture :O)
Yes, they are a necessary evil. I saw a family of four last year in our hotel, all sit down in the bar before dinner, Mum and Dad on iphones and the kids on ipads. No-one spoke a word....... so sad.
I am sure in the future they are going to find out that this generation has become more disconnected with the world, not the other way around. Great shot
Great candid shot. I really think people become addicted to there phones and can't do without them now, we all used to manage very well without them years ago!
Nice capture! It kills me to go to a restaurant and see a group of kids around 10 years old together but they're all just playing on their phones and not really interacting. I use my phone often, but when I am with others I leave it alone unless I get a call from work or something.
Love the graininess of this. It is quite sad how dependent people have become on these little devices! I try to remember to put mine onto silent mode when I meet up with friends or family.
