it is quite not me to have to shoot a building or a church and not find out the name. but that's exactly what happened. all because director james cameron kept telling me how and where and what angle i should take. then i yelled at him and then he moped so that killed whatever artistry was coming out of me at the time. plus i was trying to be stingy with my shots as i had about less than 20 shots left in my sd card.
although not taken within the duration of the theme, i'm still tagging it for the breaking the rules theme. i was quite appalled that i have managed to break the rule of thirds albeit unconsciously. but it still makes for a nice view, at least.
thank you for your kind visits and comments; know that they are truly appreciated.
@espyetta - oh yeah! man thumbs up his nose on the rule of thirds. tee-hee! he wanted those round lamps to have been centered against the spire, but i said the post was not planted correctly. more tee-hee! thank you, MB.
You could have left a limb in there by mistake - thats another rule breaker! Actually it is in thirds horizontally! Maybe you could pic monkey the steeple so it was on a lean!
I must tell you that I have a big attraction for these type of churches. The steeple is very attractive and they look so pristine, mostly contrasting against that amazing blue sky.
bahaaaaaa! don't you hate it when people try to give you helpful advice? as for the rule of thirds... rules schmules! nice capture - where is this church? can you google for it?
@northy - argh! yeah, helpful my something. i get the "quick, i have a better angle for you" whenever i'm shooting something i like. oy! btw, i'm meeting mara @mara19500 tomorrow morning and will bring her and her friend around downtown toronto, perhaps we'll go to the islands. i don't know if i'd have time to do the ghostly shot but if not, would you like to go and shoot for a few hours on the weekend? or tuesday? no pressure if you're busy! thanks, kiddo.
@summerfield hey Vikki! just logging on now - Saturday morning... hope you had a fabulous day with Mara... the weather starting tomorrow is looking iffy, but yeah, as of about noon tomorrow (Sunday), the kids will be off at camp and in theory i have Sunday afternoon and Tuesday to do with as i wish... AND in general a lot more flex in the evenings... whatcha thinking in terms of a location and timing?
(btw, i don't mind shooting in murky weather - so a bit of rain won't scare me off... a downpour would be problematic because the equipment isn't waterproof, but perhaps we can think of somewhere indoors... i always love shooting in the underground PATH downtown, altho' i don't know whether we might get turfed by security if we're bringing tripods down there)
@northy - fabulous day it was with mara and her friend angela. they're both a riot to be with, kinda like the two of us! :-P are you able to see her on monday the 7th? i'm going to be in chicago from the 4th coming on the 7th around 3 o'clock. i shall meet them then, i hope you can sneak away from your busy schedule to meet up.
i now have dinner tomorrow night (sunday) so can we go Tuesday evening? there is a walkway connecting a building to another across on york just north of bremmer. the problem is it's july 1st and there might be a lot of peeps going about. unless you want to go monday night. :-E but that is when it's going to rain according to the forecasts. i'll check on monday with the security at royal bank plaza if they can let us do our project in the path or even in the lower concourse at the food court and i'll let you know. (i know, can you picture an empty food court, hundreds of empty tables and chairs with you right in the middle! heaven!!)
@summerfield Tuesday evening would work... About the 7th... I'd blocked off the afternoon, but got booked into a mtg w some execs anyway... I'm going to try to get it changed, but I have only so much clout and the mtg is related to a high priority project... I think I will be done by 3:30 and would be able to meet up then...
