i walked to the market during lunch trying to get inspired but all i did was pig out. i had Chinese food - fish stewed in black bean sauce with steamed rice, then a baklava that was ultra sweet i'm pretty sure all my teeth would fall by morning, and yet i had a good serving of a banana split with three scoops of ice cream and all the bells and whistles! and i wondered why i wasn't in the mood to eat supper. :-)
i saw this bouquet for only $5.99 (there's more chrysanthemums and sunflowers not included in the shot) and thought would make for a good photo study on the weekend. but as i was taking this shot tonight, a horrible thought occurred to me. what if i wake up in the morning and there are tarantulas all over the living room! i've read that at one time from one of those chain e-mails. yowsers!
thank you for your kind visits and comments; know that they are truly appreciated.
Squirm, tarantulas in flowers! Let's hope that's just an urban legend! I'm liking this dark side of yours although it's not helping dispel the thought that spiders could be lurking.
Never heard the story about tarantulas coming out of flowers before! I love how you have done this photo, the composition, background , lighting, all great!
love the dark drama of this with the great lighting. We're get-pushed partners again this week. The dragon descends picture caught my eye in the thumbnails and I read the story. Challenge: How about a story about a child and a purple pillow (or insert suitable color)? When my son Liam was very young he loved the "story game," which involved a prompt and the other person told a story. I wish I had written down his amazing stories. Not sure why the amazing dragon picture reminded me of this passtime, but I hope you enjoy the challenge.
Very pretty! I really like the darker lighting of the shot. One time Judy had me pick a cluster of Peonies to put on her dining room table but before we stuck them in the vase, she had me put the heads in a bowl of water- that way any little insect visitors were promptly "executed". If tarantulas ride in on sunflowers and chrysanthemums, perhaps this method would work on them too. (o:
