oars by summerfield

oars

and oarsmen. or kayakers if you want to be so technical.

went to the marina yesterday to stalk these oars peeps. these two are competitors, the others (cropped) were students, just learning how to correctly paddle their way. these two, when they spotted me with my camera, turned and paddled like there was no tomorrow. so i had to set my camera with a faster shutter speed and did panning. another one yelled at me to not take photos. i just ignored him. i wondered they could spot me so easily. maybe it's my canary yellow rain jacket, you think? i should find one that's not so noticeable.

so, i made it to the middle of the month without choking yet. whew! i have a few more prospects to last me this week; not exciting ones but i still have to sort out my weekend pics so i could show you some of them.

thank you for your kind visits and comments; know that they are truly appreciated.
Wow fabulous lines and the bokeh give is a nice pop! FAV!

I wonder why he didn't want his picture then? This is great in b&w...

Did you add that bokeh in there? Super timing and processing. really well done!

Love this in black and white. Perhaps he thought you were a spy for a competing team and were capturing some big trade secrets! LOL!

There's something about this that looks like an Oriental screen...maybe a reed screen with silhouettes and shading painted on it. It's gorgeous! It's beyond me why they might not want their photos taken, being out in the open as they were! (There's a lot of that nonsense going around these days!)

Great shot, I like the bokeh on the water and your choice of framing

I love this shot - very nice in b&w and nicely framed by the trees. I really like how the reflections pop.

@summerfield You have every right to think, "Sure lady...you're out there playing in the morning sun, but SOME OF US ants have to go to work so you grasshoppers can play!" Richard @chard and I were just swapping notes about mental lapses... I guess if we hang out here long enough, we'll all grow old together!

@Weezilou - eh, no, i wasn't thinking like that. i fully intend to keep my promise to you and paula. i suppose i could've done it tonight when i got your reminder, but i don't want to hang around a dark park with my equipment. partner is not quite keen on accompanying me for what he thinks are our silly challenges around here on 365. he could be a joy killer sometimes. so i would prefer to do it during daylight. at least if my gears get stolen i' can describe the bad guys. well, that is if i remember. hehehehe!

Super framing. I like the processing

Super panning shot and framing. Rowboats have oars silly, kayaks have paddles. But I'll let it slide.you are doing so well with half the month gone. ;-)

@bill_fe - really, those are paddles and not oas? why, i may have to fire my wingman who told me those are oars!!!!!
October 17th, 2014
@bill_fe - oars not oas! ngek!
October 17th, 2014
@bill_fe - okay. thanks for that info. i went by the shape of the 'paddle' and in here they refer to it as oar. bloody canadians!
October 17th, 2014
@summerfield Well, if that's what they refer to as oars, then oars they are.
