partner panicked when i asked him which of these two round thingamajiggs is the odometer because they didn't have what the odometers of old have.
"where the heck is your mileage metre? did you ever notice you have no odometer?"
"all cars have an odometer," he said, as he scrambled to fish out the car's manual from the dash compartment.
"goofy!" i said. "the odometer is that thing that gives you your mileage. so where is it?"
he pointed to the tiny screen with numbers right in between the two round thingies.
"eww," i said, "it's ugly. why did they put it in there? it's like they forgot to put it when they manufactured the car. this is like an afterthought!"
back at my apartment, i was processing this photograph when he came in and looked over my shoulder. "it kinda looks like an owl. there's your owl, honey!"
"yes, i'm pretty sure my friends on 365 wouldn't know the difference." you gotta love my sarcasm, but partner rarely ever hears what i say anyway.
then he said, " it looks very plain. can you process it some more so it looks more attractive?"
"sure!" i said.
so i pasted on my grandma sewer tart photo. kind of fits in there, doesn't it? tee-hee!

@grammyn informed me last night that my "olives" photograph is one of the five finalists for the theme-partytime voting. feel chuffed about it. been here four years and this is the first time my photo had been chosen. i know i won't win, but go on and have a mosey on there and see how my photo fares with the other four great photos. as usual i don't ask you to vote for my photo but for the one you think is best. really, just being in there is already an honour for me.
