i decided to flip a coin

switching gears for today and helping out our buddy bill with his song challenge. the song is bob dylan's "115th dream" and this collage was inspired by the following lyrics:

I decided to flip a coin
Like either heads or tails
Would let me know if I should go
Back to the ship or back to jail
So I hocked my sailor suit
And I got a coin to flip
It came up tails
It rhymed with sails
So I made it back to the ship.

i couldn't quite get the coin/token and hand together in the same frame and after a few tries, the lawyer who was helping me needed to take a phone call so in his last toss, the token landed on the ledge of my desk and spun (left photo). it was going for quite a long time when i remembered i had a get push challenge that i need to fulfill which was "stop action shot." so i had to quickly change my shutter speed and got the photo on the right as the token was winding down. you can tell that it is still in action by the distortion near the letter y and right underneath the small prints. then, i sort of fumbled and unknowingly turned the mode dial from M to A as the token was finally winding down to a stop (middle photo).

and for the record, i never really cared about bob dylan. :-P

the get push challenge was "action that isn't posed- a street shot or a stop action shot" by Deborah Seibly @debseibly i've chosen to do the stop action shot as it's raining outside and cold and windy and just plain miserable all week and the one day that we had clear skies i had meetings all over the place.

Looks good to me! I don't usually do the song challenge, but poor Bill needed entries- so this time I did. I thought about doing this line- but opted for something a little more fanciful. I was not a Dylan fan either. Great collage!
