my purple calla lilies are thriving near the radiator. well, it was purple when i shot this, but now they've morphed into burgundy-ish colour. or maybe it's my bad eyesight. well, the leaves still look green to me so i don't think i'm colour blind, yet. in any case, i can't get a natural backlighting in my living room as it isn't summer yet so i need to improvise. i set up the pot in front of the softbox.
lighting is really my weakness, my kryptonite. it was a lot easier when i didn't know anything, and i would jump in joy when i get something decent. now everything's a reject. i have to analyze everything. and damn if i don't! dangit!
thank you for your kind visits and comments; know that they are truly and greatly appreciated.
It is a bit of a bother when one is always trying to get a photo the best possible. So many shots and so many deletes! I do like the silhouette look for these great flowers. They are so strong and shapely!
What color they are really doesn't matter since this is in black-and-white! You have done a fabulous job of making them look like silhouettes and still getting the detail of the drops which adds so much more interest to the entire composition! Really a fabulous image my dear!
Well this just turned out to be a superb photograph. I really have to admit that reading your posts is one of the more entertaining parts of my day. Great stuff!
I think that's a beautiful minimalist shot....love the shapes and the curves. Hmmmm.....lightbox/softbox....got to put one of those on my never ending list!
