fill the frame - macro

this little guy is only two inches so i had to use my raynox macro filter to fill the frame.

second day of the 'seven of one' assignment that bill gave me for this week. it could've been worse - the original exercise called for thirteen, and while i thought of at least four last night when i was shooting this little object, i don't know of any other nine ways to photograph this, so seven is just fine with me. i'm pretty sure i'd be able to come up with four other ways to shoot this. just like in school, ideas for projects come to me at the last minute. in fact, even the choice of this little object was last minute. i had something else in mind but bill said "no props, just the object".

living room light only, but still by the window.

if you want to join in on this fun project, if you're running out of ideas, this just might spark your creativity. we're using the tag "seven-of-one". go on, you know you want to.

thank you for your kind visits and comments; know that they are truly and greatly appreciated. i had a few lull at the office today so i was able to visit some of your albums. that's an improvement, ain't it?
Ahhhh. Great to see the little fellow up close!

@olivetreeann - i ran out of patience searching through my photos to find buildings and structures. i had enough of it for the industrial shots. :-) so now i have to make my brain work a little bit for this challenge. thank you, ann.

@summerfield LOL I know what you mean- I spent a couple hours yesterday going through the "easy to reach" archives to find church pictures, loaded them into one folder so I could just draw from there for the week. I'm already wondering what I'm going to do next week! I might go digging through some of my prints from WAY back and scan them. Part of me wishes I didn't sign on for this but I have no car, so this is the best way to accomplish the task.

@olivetreeann - you can do windows or doors or stairwells, those are architecture. i do have a lot of barn shots that i yet have to showcase here. maybe we'll have a flashback friday for those yet unposted pics. or maybe not. :-)

He's got a lot of detail in him and being of that thick metal construction it would affect the light on his various details! Tum and cheeks in this one!

Great detail on this one

@panthora - hahaha! for this week, it's a small object. :-) for next week though, you can do it perhaps as the subject "portable". here's the low-down:

"Carry a subject with you and put it in the frame no matter where you are shooting.

Think about the famous traveling gnome. Bring a favorite “thing” on your outing and figure out how to include it in your images. Notice how it dictates framing and composition. Be creative with your placement of your portable subject." tag will be "seven-portable" if you decide to join in. thank you, girlfriend! :-)
