flying solo

today's study is about negative space.

this is not as sharp as it was a surprise shot. i was trying to get one last shot of yesterday's domed roof of the allen gardens conservatory when i heard the sound that this guy was making, then the camera picked up its image flying just above me when a group of much smaller birds appeared from somewhere and chased this big guy away.

sooc. cropped in camera.

i'm donning the mad hatter's hat today. if you are so inclined my shot can be viewed here and i promise you you will not be disappointed: http://365project.org/madhatters/365/2015-08-26

thank you for your kind visits and comments; know that they are so much appreciated.

[for the lowdown on this week's challenge and if you want to join in for a few shots, please go back two posts and it's in there.]

@summerfield Nice! So glad you did this instead of something else. I had one with two birds in it, but I liked the comp better with the single bird.

@summerfield Aww! Fun to see the same and yet differences! Beautiful sky and feather detail in this one!

Very nice use of negative space. I also like composition and the placement of the bird, it's flying out of the scene as opposed to coming into the scene. Creative!

Looks good! I thought for a moment the element was air!
