this is one tool i find really useful when baking. it makes blending the farine and the butter evenly and easily. this is the second one i ever owned as my first one i left with my sister in manila.
i wanted some colour in my shot so i used some props to enhance the dull looking thingie.
this week, i'm digging in my kitchen drawers in the hope of finding some inspiration. thanks to my good friends who are doing the same thing!
thank you for your kind visits and comments; know that they are greatly appreciated.
I can't believe I just faved a pastry blender, but that's a gorgeous photo! I've missed you m'friend, but it's all my fault! The speed of my my days has picked up now with Thanksgiving tomorrow & the Christmas boutiques! I don't want to miss a one of them! When life is slow and dull back in CA, I'll call you from poolside so you can tell me how much you're enjoying the snow ; )
@Weezilou - hahaha! i don't believe for one moment that life could be slow and dull in sunny CA! i've missed you, too, and i'm often reminiscing our sojourn in sherbrooke and lunenburg. my love to ken. and dinah! :-)
@salza - yes, you do quite a lot of baking so you probably should. btw, francoise is joining us and came up with the tag "kitchenthingies" :-) if you're so inclined as to add the tag in yours. thank you, sally.
A very elegant dough blender! I would have cropped it a little bit more on top, or left a bit more space on the bottom (to show more of the blender's reflection), but it is a beautiful shot!
used to have one and always used my fingers instead ... which I understand leads to tough pastry, alas. This shot makes the instrument seem so ... inevitable, I think.
