every time i come across the story of leda and the swan, i can't understand how zeus, being the all supreme god of their universe, could be so callous and deceiving. it's a good thing that he is not the god we worship today or else he'd be forced to give up his awful ways, or zeus forbid (tee-hee!) he gets impeached or assassinated. imagine transforming himself into a swan and having carnal knowledge with the pretty leda and impregnating her. in this day and age, he'd be shot! as you know, male swans are the only fowl specie that have phallic organs, more like resembling a corkscrew and shaped like a ram's horn.
i'm pretty sure that i had explained this more intelligently in the past because this isn't the first time i've posted a photo of this fountain at the allen gardens.
for my get pushed challenge this week from @vtmama which is to "create an image that through post processing is part color and part black and white".

almost done with the unpacking, just 7 more boxes of books and 4 boxes of kitchen and hopefully one of them is where all my summer shoes are.
Cool. And I agree about Zeus but pretty Leda, too... a swan? And Europe with the white bull (a bull?!?) and that other one with a Golden Rain.... girls had definitely more fantasy in ancient times!
Hi,
I am your get pushed partner for this week. Boxes...Sounds the same as what I am busy with, How about a photo of unpacking the last box and which shows the relieve it is done! Does this sounds ok with you?
I love your introduction "every time I come across the story of Ieda and the swan" I feel quite ignorant as it is a story I have never come across - despite my grammar school education. Thanks for the information. I like how your contrast between colour and black and white is actually quite subtle due to the colouring of the bush in the middle band.

Interesting legend.
