may pair of opera binoculars. on my first Christmas here, my boss and his wife gifted me with a $100 gift card for one of the high end department stores. when i went to use it, everything i wanted to buy was at least $300 and i felt too stingy to defray two hundred dollars just to be able to enjoy my gift card. when i was about to give up, i noted that the store had a specialty shop with binoculars and all that out of the way gadgets we don't normally use in our everyday lives. what got me interested was that the next day i was going to see "the phantom of the opera" with a couple of friends. we had excellent seats and we were told that the audience in those seats wore semi-formal outfit. no problem there. i was cultured enough having lived in europe and the middle east and going to ballets and opera. i thought this thingamajig would make a nice accessory for my cocktail outfit. which was quite fortuitous for we were upgraded to one of the boxes normally reserved for the rich and moneyed. needless to say, my opera glasses made me look like i had every right to sit in that box.
this pair had seen the phantom three times, les miserables two, miss saigon, once, mama mia twice, barbra streisand once, buddy holly twice, shirley bassey once, and so many others that i have now forgotten.
and now that i can go watch whatever show i want to see without feeling guilty (my former parole officers, i mean exes have very different taste from the moi, you see) i suppose these would be put to full use once again.
Congratulations on being a finalist in the weekly theme!
