managed to go to the beaches, one of my old haunts.
i didn't realize just how badly the flooding at the lakeside was. i passed by the old pond where there used to be a pair of friendly mute swans. the water during the spring had covered the boardwalk and you can still see the dried up and hardened gak that were left on the wood when the water had receded. the water now is exactly at the edge of the boardwalk and apparently there are no more swans coming there. just the occasional ducks but mostly just the seagulls.
then i went to the beaches proper and the change was just astounding! what used to be all sand, half of it was submerged in water. and they had to dig the sand to use to reinforce the beachline so that the swelling water can be contained and massive flooding averted. i see, too, that they had put pairs of muskoka/adirondack chairs randomly around the shallow waters.
it might be hard to discern but can you see that the colours of the two chairs are the same as that person's beach wear?
Gotta love the beach goer that color coordinates with the beach chairs. I like the middle of the list view in the car .......or ........the minimalist view and colorful reflections !!
Got to love the entertainment factor of talk to text too.
How interesting - is this global warming influences you are observing, I wonder. The two chairs look completely out of place, and with the colour co-ordination of the (kite flying?) person, it is definitely quite a picture.
@helenhall - over the last several years, authorities have been saying that the lake's water line has been getting lower, about 1 inch. but suddenly, this spring, we had this flooding. it is quite amazing.
