used a variable ND filter to its maximum dark setting, over a polarizer that's also positioned to its darkest setting, and a deep blue and a deep violet gel films. this is at 2:30 p.m. Toronto time.
@30pics4jackiesdiamond - very exciting. i got street shots of people looking up and taking photos with their cell phones. people also bugged me wanting to see what i have captured.
I have been waiting to see what people would post from the eclipse. So excited to see this wonderful image. (I viewed it just after seeing a facebook friend post her failed shot wondering what had gone wrong - taken with her cell phone! I'm looking forward to seeing more.
I was clueless as I set out this morning, and totally unprepared, but I did get a couple of images I liked that showed what I was going after. Good enough! Nicely prepared for on your part!!!
Good for you for having figured out how to do this without some special lens. It looks so different to see it in blue and not the typical orange and black.
this is an awesome photo by one of our friends: https://365project.org/cheribug/2014-third-year/2017-08-21
