this was shot in late december especially for the 52-week challenge's week 6 which calls for "alternating patterns of light to bring depth and rhythm to the photograph."
it also fits in with the this week's lines and patterns theme for the flashofred.
as a side note, i went back to brookfield place where this was taken and tried to take photos, but without the lights at the end and above, there just was no "ooomph!"
there, that's how you kill two birds with one stone, but don't let the animal activists know about it or we'll be in trouble!
That is a fine bit of thinking ahead. Just perfect for both of the challenges. I love that you can see each of those squares in 3D as well as the overall depth. Great lights above, but I swear they look like a beam of light shining over the model reindeer underneath. (is it just me seeing that?)
@helenhall - it is actually a giant snowflake sculpture made of plastic. at the end of the 3 rows of lit floor tiles is the going down escalator. then another two rows of lit tiles then the going up escalator. the sculpture is on those two rows.
Yes, very spacey! I might have cropped off just a little more of the gray in the foreground but that's me- it's an excellent shot! The patterns and light are so good!
