this was the view i had on the plane's ascent from san francisco yesterday. that there on the upper half of the photo is the view in my post of june 4. correct me if i am wrong, mike, but i believe that's the uss hornet on the lower left of the island and that's where mike and i were when we took our photos. the rest of the flight was mostly cloudy.
while flying no longer gets me excited due to the lengthy and sometimes ridiculous procedures and ones taken advantaged by the airlines, i still find excitement seeing the earth from above. it is always an amazing and thrilling sight. until you hear a passenger fart, or some children acting up, or a snotty attendant not really attending to you. flying is no longer a refined experience as it used to.

and before i get carried away and rant at flying these days, why don't you mosey on down to five plus two and see our "impressive impressionistic impressions" - impressionist is the theme this week.
i had wanted to learn how to properly put on false eyelashes and the makeup girl kindly showed me and ended up showing me, too, how to properly put on make up. i was quite impressed especially that it lasted all of 14 hours that i had it on. and so even at a very late hour when i got back to my hotel room, i had to take a few self shots. i didn't need to do a re-touch like i normally would on photoshop and ribbet. but then for my five plus two posting, i had to really etsooi it on photoshop to get that little bit of impressionist look. tell me if you're impressed: https://365project.org/fiveplustwo/365/2018-06-06
I love the view too and git almost homicidal on my last flight across country when the man with the window seat pulled down the blind and started sleeping.
@grammyn - hah! you should fly porter airlines to toronto's city airport which is situated in the islands. you'd think it would just land on water and not get to the runway which is really short. :-)
