i carry too much stuff with me, it's unbelievable. when i came to canada, my personal possessions, comprised only of two medium freight boxes. now i could probably fill out a container. i've gotten rid of some of my books (rather reluctantly) and some knick-knacks. at this late stage in life, i learned it's not good to hang on to sentimental values of things. or in thinking that one of these days i will find "a use for it". until, a whole room full of boxes later, and only a scintilla of a fraction of those were of use.
i have forgotten when exactly i got these set of porcelain thimbles; these set must've been a gift from someone. all i know is that when i used to sew, i always had a need for a thimble -- my home-ec teacher taught me that so i have had a couple of real usable thimbles, the whereabouts of which elude me, as it had been quite a while since i last sew a button on a shirt.
so maybe these cuties are going to alabama, if the lady there would have them. :-)
They are beautiful thimbles and make a fabulous prop for this photo. I love that Bokeh Background too. The lady from Alabama would be Honored to have them although they probably would never get used. They are too pretty for that and I think she has fat fingers anyway
I am also at the stage when I look at boxes of stuff and when people ask what I want for Christmas I say please make it an experience rather than a thing.
Cute thimbles. Sending them to someone who will love them as much as you. That's a good thing. Wish I could be more ruthless and purge more of my stuff.
