antique bangle by summerfield

antique bangle

this is a sort of a diary shot. this was a discarded piece of jewelry, it has a couple of serious dents on its smoother half. i had always thought it is gold-plated, i.e. a fake and would use it only as a prop. my jeweler recently examined it more thoroughly and determined it is of 10 carat rose gold and dates back to the late 1800's. now it has a certification and accompanying appraised value. but i'm afraid i might lose it as the clasp is a tad bit loose and i always forget i'm wearing it.

Wow -- what an interesting history! I had a similar experience recently with a ring I thought was fake, but turns out it's about 100 years old. Wish I could remember which aunt and on whose side it came from!

What a beautiful piece! I love your photo of it too. You have shown great detail with this close-up shot. How exciting to find out it has some value other than personal value

What a beautiful bracelet. I’m sure your jeweler can adjust the catch to make it more secure, it’s lovely.

A beautiful shot of this treasure. Can you have the clasp repaired or will that effect its value?
