i'm a sucker for punishment: i decided to undertake another year-long project of mostly self-portraits in which i will photobomb iconic images (because i so loved domenico dodaro's "photobombing the classics series") or simply emulate iconic photographs -- excepting those that involve nudity (because we don't want us to go blind unnecessarily, n'est pas?).
itiofd, i have previously posted a similar photo over at five plus two https://365project.org/fiveplustwo/365/2018-02-28 but with a different pose. and as you can see here, i'm also carrying a camera on my other arm.
"Shot in 1932 and later credited to photographer Charles Clyde Ebbets, "Lunch Atop a Skyscraper" came to symbolize American resilience and ambition at a time when both were desperately needed soon after the Great Depression. It has since become an iconic emblem of the city in which it was taken, affirming the romantic belief that New York is a place unafraid to tackle projects that would cow less brazen cities." - boredpanda.com
the image is borrowed from google images with thanks.
p.s. - thank you for indulging me yet again on yesterday's "faceless" self portrait. most of you hit the proverbial nail in the head i'm just glad you didn't hit the nail on my head.
That image scares me every time I see it! Those men were fearless - and they got the job done under very trying circumstances!
So good to know you will be doing another year of selfies!
O My Goodness ... caught my eye on the trending page. I love this photo and it's super special that I know the lady on the right .... Who knew they let women work on the skyscrapers ? I think I'd lose my lunch up there ....
So well done with this iconic image
