i told the bamboo that it has cousins in kansas who are imprisoned in a box. it was incredulous, especially when i said that said cousins are being used to sneezed on by humans. so the bamboo is not having any plans to go to kansas to visit the cousins because it's afraid it'd would get covid from all the sneezing! 😂
it is however amenable to meeting its cousins via zoom.

well, tax returns are done and dusted. yesterday on first calculation i had a 19 hundred refund. this morning, i discovered a crucial error and the refund became just under a thousand. when i was putting all the numbers in the official form, i found another grave error but it ended up giving me an almost 29 hundred refund. i couldn't care anymore if my calculations were right or wrong. i gathered all the schedules and attachments, stapled them once, placed the papers inside the government-provided envelope, pasted the flap closed, and ran to the post office to have it stamped and mailed before i could change my mind and do another round of checking. let them do a bit of work, as the calculations have been modified because of the pandemic.
and that was my almost impossible mission. i think starting next year, i will have to get a real accountant to do my taxes.
With regards to a real accountant for taxes... we have one (because it is really tricky to be Dutch (taxes in the Netherlands), being paid in the US and living in Oman), but since we have this my husband never has complained more...

The pandemic tax breaks (and our ages - smile) afforded us a refund this year as well. Tell your bamboo that he has cousins in Texas that my sister sleeps on. She adores her bamboo sheets.
