so many photos taken from this weekend's photo meet up with wendy @farmreporter and three other 365ers, sylvia @sprphotos, dora @dora and my 5+2 buddy adi @adi314 as well as a few of wendy's camera club buddies. but the one takeaway from the meet up was rather personal. you see, wendy and her husband bruce have two dogs. big dogs! the kind that would get me to cower in the corner just looking at them.
prince, left, is wendy's while shadow is bruce's. they are such sweet dogs and thanks to them i might have made a big stride in conquering my fear of dogs. while shadow is the shy and quiet one, prince is the opposite. i was tentative with them at first, especially prince. he's a licker and i always have to tell him "no licking" when i pet him. when he wants attention, he would just rub his body against my thigh as he passed by, and because he's heavy the gesture would make me take a step to balance myself so i wouldn't fall over. saturday morning, he had a squeaky ball and i threw it for him a few times. oh! did he love it! sunday morning, he was trying to trick me by catching the ball and bringing it to the deck so i would have to bend down to retrieve it and he would try to lick my face. this morning, he was using the same trick, but i've caught on to him. wendy took him with us to the train station. by lunch time i was feeding him with food in my hand.
i chose this shot (from among the several that bruce took with my camera, thank you, sir!) because you can see prince smiling. believe it or not, dogs do smile! my one regret was that i forgot to say goodbye to him at the train station because wendy had to park the car after she dropped me off but didn't take prince with her to the station.
So so proud of you Vikki. Prince and Shadow are champions. This picture speaks a thousand words. Prince is definitely smiling and you, my dear, look extremely relaxed. I have to fav this, more than once if I could
have to laugh, Prince is pleased to see you !!
good on you, i am nervous around dogs too although it has eased in the lastfew years taking dogs in cars photos has helped
and what a meetup, look forward to seeing lots more photos
Such an awesome shot!
All three of you look very relaxed (though Shadow does look like the kid who hates having his photo taken - lol!)
Prince fell in love with you as well. He really enjoyed having you around.
This is a FAV - to remind me of the weekend and the relationship you developed with Prince (and me!!)
How awesome that you had a wonderful time which was no surprise but overcoming your fear of dogs is a great mile stone and what a beautiful picture to mark the occasion!
What a great photo! You came a long way, looking so relaxed whilst holding and posing with these dogs! Well done!
I'm looking forward to seeing more photos from the weekend!
Took me a moment...knew you didn't want to be around cats, but THEN I remembered you didn't like dogs around you either. But this is such a WONDERFUL portrait of the three of you...those are sweet breeds of dogs...glad you got to know them!
Great pic. My daughter used to be terrified of dog, even little ones, until we got our big dog. It really bothered him that she was afraid of him, so he kept giving her those puppy dog eyes until she would pat him on the head. Now, she loves him. Glad you had a good experience with them.
