bokeh-licious

i'm trying to catch up on the prompts for the 52 captures challenge. this is for week 38 the prompt of which was "bokeh". i aimed my camera at the view from my bedroom window, deliberately out of focus to get some bokeh. i added more in post.

it's been pissing rain since yesterday here in toronto. this morning when i woke up at my usual time i heard the tapping of the rain on the window pane and i thought i wouldn't be able to go for my walk so i went back to sleep, rather feeling guilty. i woke up at 7:30 and realized the rain had stopped so i quickly changed and went for my walk. it wasn't raining but there was a thick mist. i kept thinking as i trod on that i might step into a time portal and get transported to another time. obviously i've been reading too many time travel novels.

i started to paint this morning forgetting that it was sunday and i had to attend our zoom service. then i forgot, too, that i had been invited to a lunch by my niece's friend. in the end i only have two half-finished paintings to show for my weekend. half-finished, what a misnomer.
I like the mysterious atmosphere. At least you have some half done paintings, I'm still at the 'thinking about' stage

An abundance of bokeh. Sounds like a busy day.

Well I like this shot and how cool to have started two paintings!

Well done on all this natural and added bokeh!

You can't finish unless you start so good on you for starting two!

The bokeh prompt has certainly been met :)

Wonderful golden bokeh for your challenge.

this is lovely golden bokeh and has a warm feeling that is very welcome over here on this cold wet day. Are you in lockdown? I have lost track with how it is everywhere. Our church has been meeting in person for several months now and at the moment I know 13 people with COVID, many of them from the church. I'm keeping away for now!

@helenhall - at least in our province, most businesses are open but for restaurants they are now asking for proof of vaccination when dining in, but not if the restaurant has a patio. we still need to practice physical distancing and to wear a mask. our church has not yet opened for in person worship/service; we still meet via zoom. this is because 99% of the members are over seventy and as a matter of precaution, until the government says it's safe to assemble again, the church stays closed. i have two friends who have died not because they had COVID but because of COVID in that they could not get the treatment they needed as everything else was delayed or postponed due to COVID. our office also has not opened, but encourages us to attend once in a while otherwise we continue to work from home (wfh). i think nobody wants to go back to the office anymore. we will soon be instituting a 'hybrid' work schedule, e.g., two days in the office, alternating with those seating around us and wfh the rest of the week.

it is wise to keep away.

Nice job with the out of focus shot. Those type of shots never seem to work out for me.

I like the bokeh. Can serve as a good background for something in the future.
Half finished is better than half not done.
