luminous

today's watercolour word is "luminous".

i normally would paint first thing in the morning when my hands are well rested and my eyes could see better. i must admit i forgot about the challenge when i woke up and just went on for my walk.

shamelessly copied a clip art image from google images, although my original idea was to draw a moth with it. guess, i forgot about that, too!

used Gansai Tambi metallic gold for the candle holder, Artist's Loft metallic white gouache for the candle, Art-n-Fly 24 watercolors for the flame and background, Princeton round brushes #2 and #6, on 7"x10" watercolor paper.
Excellent

Beautiful. How did you get the texture where the wax dripped?

@randystreat - i used gouache, which is a kind of watercolour that is formulated for opacity, depending on how much water is used, and it's a bit thicker in texture. i used it for dimension, as here and yesterday's effervescent photo. i use it straight from the tube without water.
