@mimigd yes, they're the same order (odonata) but different suborders. Damselflies usually have wings that lie parallel to their body when they're sitting, their eyes are quite separate, sort of on the side of the head and their front and back wings are very similar. Dragonfly wings point out to the side when they're at rest, their eyes are very close together and their back wings are different from their front wings. Damselflies are typically smaller than Dragonflies but the largest Odonata is a Damselfly.
