Another Hosta Lover

I caught this little Damselfly hanging around the Hosta blooms. I learned today that Damselflies can't walk, only land.

Many thanks for dropping by.
I did not know that about damsels. Very pretty capture; nice composition.

Excellent catch, I like those wings. (I've been chasing dragonflies since the Spring, can't get them to sit still)

By the way, is a Damselfly different than a dragonfly? This looks a little "petite" compared to ours....

@mimigd yes, they're the same order (odonata) but different suborders. Damselflies usually have wings that lie parallel to their body when they're sitting, their eyes are quite separate, sort of on the side of the head and their front and back wings are very similar. Dragonfly wings point out to the side when they're at rest, their eyes are very close together and their back wings are different from their front wings. Damselflies are typically smaller than Dragonflies but the largest Odonata is a Damselfly.

Another lovely shot, and I never knew the difference between a dragonfly and a damselfly. Your knowledge of the natural world really impresses me.
