I went to Algonquin Park for a hike with 7 friends. The hiking trail is short but is a spectacular 100 meters above the Barron River and has views comparable to the Eagle's Nest [where we were a few days ago, overlooking the waterlilies]. The Barron River was carved out about 10,000 years ago by raging water from the melting glaciers.
There was a little bit of colour from the changing leaves but the woods in the surrounding area is predominately a variety of evergreens so we saw lots of green .... ;-).
Many thanks for dropping by! Barry and Kala think it's funny they made the pop page .... thanks for that!
@russianblue haha, I hear ya!!! i've been meaning to go there for years and finally did it yesterday! We've been to lots of provincial parks over the years, just never made it to this one for some reason. Less than two hours away!!!
@beautifulplanet yes, from the parking lot not too far down the road from the gate closest to Pembroke. it's a very short hike, 1.5 km --- i wanted to do it twice but would have been doing it by myself the second time. not a hike for small children ... so close to the cliff, so far down.
This is gorgeous, Anne! All of your walks are so beautiful and you capture such great photos. Barry and Kala deserved to be on the pop page - that was an awesome photo.
