I was walking in the woods with friends and left the camera in the car so on the way home, I stopped on this bridge to get some pics. The sky has been like this for a week or two --- some sun and blue sky but almost always the threat of showers.
Many thanks for dropping by and for your questions and comments.
Beautiful shot, Anne. Our daughter, who is a pilot, said that the jet stream is now moving south for the winter [it actually does switch to the south], which should leave you with sunny days, although cold. She said that on a flight from JFK [NYC] to MSP [Minneapolis] they were flying against 100-120 mph headwinds and it was extremely rough, even at 30000 ft. The jet stream has been over you most of the summer, and now, as it shifts south, the pilots will have a rougher time flying cross country to the west in the northern US.
@morrisroos wow, i love learning about stuff like this. i'll look forward to the sunny skies; the cold temps - not so much! you daughter has a job that i would have loved to try. thanks for commenting!
Breautiful . . love that dark, dark water and the dark clouds with just that hint of blue. I can carry my camera around all of the time, but that one time I forget . . I miss that one great photo op! lol :)
Very dramatic! Honestly, I'm so tired of the rain and clouds already. Don't like the shorter days - not sure how I'm going to survive winter this year! So far, the weekend looks like we'll have more sun - fingers crossed!
and i thought the big T.O. was given a curse. it's been like that since last weekend - miserable, raining and grey. i like the angle you took here, anne. shows the expanse of the river and the colours mirroring the miserable sky. wonderful shot.
