The Peck-nic. by sunnygreenwood

The Peck-nic.

What do turkeys like to do on sunny days? They like to go on a peck-nic! ;-)

Turns out that's just what they were doing ... right at our back door. We often see wild turkeys in the fields when we're out running the roads but this is the first time we've noticed them just a few feet from the house. Her head almost looks pre-historic up close. The bright green is moss on the log steps.

Many thanks for dropping by.
Great capture. I think it is a Canadian sign for good fortune to come.

Great Shot! I love this close up of the hen! Miss them this year - not coming up to the feeders. I think they moved their territory! May be they moved to you back yard :-) I had about 16 to 19 twice a day!

One that got away! Excellent capture - love the earthy/woodsy tones. When we had our vacation home in the Pennsylvania mountains we would see whole groups of wild turkey roaming around.

What a wonderful picture of the turkey. Their head does have a pre-historic look about it. Nice detail. I've only seen wild turkeys around in the last ten years or so. I think they are getting more plentiful.
