The Christmas bows still hang from the lights on the front step. It's been cold and I haven't got around to taking them down. It seemed fitting to get a shot of them on this snowy night.
A couple years ago we were having an extra rainy dark winter. I took the Christmas lights out of my dining room window that January and when I saw how much gloomier it was, I put them back up and they never come down

Reminds me of a gorgeous silent night scene. Gorgeous lighting and beautiful composition. I say "leave the red up there" for awhile. It suits the weather and the time of year.
@carmichaelbev haha, bev, you're so observant! there's actually another door that's not in the pic - just a tiny tip of the handle. a tea would be great!
@rosiekind thanks rosie! i appreciate your support. this was just a point and shoot. my camera will only allow me to adjust one setting per shot, so i rarely play with that. the snow flakes were very big and falling slowly, which helped.
Maybe you should leave the bow up all winter. It adds such a nice welcoming touch to the snowy scene. I can just picture y'all by the fire inside. Pretty shot, Anne.
I love the snowy night scene! It a New England tradition to leave wreaths and bows on the doors long past Christmas to brighten the winter landscape. I think you should pretend you live in Vermont and leave them up.
Oh, and I meant to tell you, Steve won Scrabble last week by four or five points. I slayed him this week, by like 40 points. Then he challenged me to a second game and won by about the same. So he is still ahead! Men!!!
