We visited the sugar bush with our granddaughters. I have a nearly identical pic from last year --- our older granddaughter front and centre, sitting where the the driver should be standing, hardly taking her eyes off Dan and Josie as they haul about 20 of us on a sleigh through the woods. Same horses, same colour of jacket, same seat, same steady stare at the path ahead while everyone else is looking to the side ...
Just after I took the pic, Poppa held her way out to the side so she could see the bells on Dan's harness. The faint blue trails through the woods are the blue lengths of tubing collecting the sap. There are about 4,000 taps. It was very warm and the snow was melting quickly so I'm guessing by now they've switched to a wagon.
Sounds like fun. We lived in Toronto for three months many years ago and visited Black Creek Pioneer Village, where we saw the maple syrup being collected. I'll never forget the experience!
@sabanford lol, that crossed my mind! could have been worse/better depending on how you look at it! ;-) i've posted quite a few bum shots over the months and a couple of them are in my top 10! lol
Great photo of a great day, Anne! I love syrup time, but with those warm temps it won't last for long. You are so lucky to have your grandchildren visit so often.
