We're enjoying day 4 of June-like weather and I should be posting a pic of the lovely sunny day. Instead you get a shot of the beaver dam to show what it looks like without the ice. In just a few days the water flow has increased immensely, rolling heavily over the top to handle the spring melt. As a result, the water level has risen a couple of feet in the section below the dam. Still no sign of the beavers, even when we stand on what appears to be part of their "house".
The rock at the front is part of a geological feature found in much of Canada - the Canadian Shield. It contains Precambrian rocks that are more than 570 million years old. I hadn't noticed it's nice formation until an observant 365'er pointed it out to me. Yes, I enjoyed my first 365 link-up today. Cindy [@cmuir1963], many, many thanks for taking time out of your busy work schedule to drop by for a visit. ;-)
Love the color tones of this, Anne. Really lovely lighting and reflection. Lovely comp and it shows the crazy weather conditions that we've all been experiencing.
What a beautiful photo, Anne. Love the reflection of this tree and the beauty of the water. Amazing that the rock is that old. Wow, that is incredible.
Part of the 365 project for me is to chronicle the changes around my neighborhood. You have done that here by sharing the changes in your world. I enjoy seeing that and reading your interesting stories too.
Wow, that's really something, huh? I love your story about the rock formation in Canada. And beaver dams are always interesting! I see you got right up close too. Isn't that fun? Let's see who gets a shot of a beaver first. Okay?
Great shot, Anne! Thanks for sharing this spot with me...not to mention your home and dinner! I had a wonderful time - you and Barry are true gems! :) I'm posting my shot of the same area but just up and to the right of the dam.
Lovely image, I look forward to seeing a beaver one day!
