We were on a little garden tour at a wholesaler's garden and saw lots of beautiful plants, including dozens of varieties of Hens & Chicks [Sempervivum] I broke down and bought 7 different kinds. I don't really have enough sun for them to thrive but hopefully they'll at least survive.
This is the bloom of one of them in the beautiful garden we visited. I think they only bloom when they start to feel mature and crowded in the spot they're in. The flowers I see on my "old" ones here are a much lighter shade of pink. This one was a very distinctive colour - at least new for me.
Many thanks for dropping by. Glad you liked the Killdeer.
With the exception of the green cluster, this one looks a bit like my bromeliad. I wonder if they're in the same family. It is so beautiful....love this shot, Anne.
