We sometimes spend time scanning ponds, creeks and swamps looking for beavers, especially when their homes are so prominently displayed. There are very rarely any in sight so it was quite surprising to find this one right beside us as we walked over a canal lock in the middle of town.
You can't imagine how much damage three beavers did to our friends cottage property this winter. They cut down every single white birch tree around the pond and blocked it so the pond overflowed on to the property. The only way to get rid of the Beavers which are huge is to hire a trapper in Quebec.
