Caboose by susanharvey

Caboose

This caboose sits along the Kal-Haven Trail, at a popular starting point for a ride to South Haven. The trail is a nonmotorized, and runs from Kalamazoo to South Haven, about a total of 34 miles in length. Way too ambitious for me to bike or walk, though one of my sisters has biked it a few times. There are several small towns along the way for stopping for refreshments, or just turning around and going back. This is my first attempt at selective color, part of the Dogwood challenge this week. Another learning curve on controlling the editing for me.

@huvesaker It's a nice place to live, though I'm actually in the neighboring city of Portage. Lots of options in the area, whether you're a city entertainment type lover or an outdoor activity lover. 15 to 20 minutes, and you're out in farm country. Right in the middle of the Detroit to Chicago route, so if you want big city, it's only a 2&1/2 to 3 hours drive to either place. Nice combination of traditional midwestern values and progressive thinking. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kalamazoo,_Michigan
