The Tombstone of The Rev. Kilsby Jones Part 1

The Rev. Kilsby Jones built our house in the 1850's.This is his tombstone in front of St David's Church (see January 10th). He wanted to be buried in the grounds of the house but his wife and his son weren't having any of it. After his death, perhaps because a dying man's wish was disregarded, a rumour soon spread that a ghost could be seen at night on his grave 'like a shifting light on the tall stone'. I'll finish the story on another day with another photo.
How sad that his wishes weren't honoured - wonder why? Lovely picture and am ashamed to say I haven't (yet) seen the stone ... or the ghost - so thank you.

A really good view of the church and tombstone ... Looks like a fairly good day too . We drove some torrential rain on the M4 today .

@lynne53 No it wasn't a good day, very dark and damp and dismal. It wasn't actually raining when I took the photo but it was close.
