Catkins

It was getting dark, it was raining, it was bitterly cold and in my haste I ended up with half a dozen blurred photos. This was the best one but it's a bit unsatisfactory. It's another sign of spring though.
I've never seen anything like these. Love the creamy color and the textures are amazing. Glad it's a positive sight of spring!

@zenna They're very pretty and they come out very early in the year before the leaves are on the trees. They're always a welcome sight.

One of my favourite signs of spring. Thank you! (and hazel catkins mean hazelnuts! ... they are hazel aren't they?) I'll investigate in March!!

@susiemc You're very welcome! Yes, I think they're hazel catkins. They're by the side of the road near the little old graveyard (see 23rd September) on the way into Llanwrtyd.
