The Old and the New

I'm getting used to my new camera, and loving it, but there will always be a place in my life for my trusty little Canon Ixus 70. It will continue to go everywhere with me in my pocket or my handbag. The most difficult thing about taking this picture was that I had to use my phone. Aaarrrh!! It took me all afternoon to figure it all out. I barely know how to use my phone for phone calls!!
I see you've got the same flash/ colour problem .. a green Lumix - but that may be my eyes. I haven't got a phone which takes pictures but then I'm a closet technophobe. Yes, Sue, I now carry my little Sony everywhere because you just never know.

Good memory for you Sue, the difference in size is amazing!

That is some difference in size - there is so much on cameras these days it takes an age to learn how to use them, especially if you never open the manual like me.

I like to see what we are all using, there is a size difference here:0) you narritive made me smile re the use of your phone camera; I always buy one with a good camera then the phone bits comes after. Although not overly keen on this one!

I have a couple of Ixus cameras and I agree that they are faithful friends. Glad you like your new one.

@craig3f2 I'm glad you think so. I'm really pleased with it so far. I still have it set on automatic but I'm experimenting with the zoom, macro and flash. I think I'm ready to do more!

@susiemc I know you were keen to capture birds in flight. Two things to try set your camera to scene mode and select the sport feature or set your dial to shutter priority and set it at about 1/800 which should be fast enough. You then just need to practice tracking them and zooming in on them. Good luck

@craig3f2 Thank you so much Craig for that advice. I've printed it off and put it in my camera case. So.....using your suggestions and photographing birds in flight will be my next challenge! Watch this space!
