The Mud Maid by susiemc

The Mud Maid

This is the second of the two mud sculptures at Heligan. The Mud Maid has a hollow framework of timber and windbreak netting to which sticky mud was applied. Her hands and face are a mixture of mud, cement and sand, originally coated with yogurt to get the lichens growing. Her head is planted with woodsedge and montbretia and ivy has been trained to clothe her.

I had a busy shopping day today and didn't manage to take a photo so it seemed a good day to use a Heligan one.
Love these sculptures..... great photo Sue, a fav

@yogisue Thanks Sue. It's a great idea - one like this would look good in our garden but it's not part of the overall plan................yet!
