As you know I was in London last weekend. I took a lot of photos!! This was taken while we were crossing London Bridge and we couldn't believe it when we saw Tower Bridge opening. It probably happens a lot but I've only ever seen it once, many years ago.There was also a helicopter hovering. We came back across the river via Tower Bridge and opened again while we were on it. That was exciting. We could see that the boat going through had Ant and Dec on it and there was some filming going on, presumably for their TV show (which I've never seen). The ship on the right of the picture is HMS Belfast.
Fabulous shot of a very interesting scene. It's also not all that common to see bridges opening up here either. It does take perfect timing, and you caught it just right. Nice shot. FAV
@gilbertwood Thank you Denise. There were a couple on the 15th and 16th October 2014 when I went to London to see the poppies but the weather wasn't good then. There will be more from this recent trip so watch this space!
@aglennc Thank you Anita. I think if you work in London and drive across this bridge every day perhaps it opens often but most people don't see it. I find things like that really exciting. I love our history and pageantry.
@susiemc I love the pageantry, especially..... also the history since that's where our nation's history started and where my family originally came from.
