It was the first day of school yesterday and I received this photo from Niki today. During the holidays they moved from their little flat in Balham, London to a house with a garden in Horsham, Sussex so this is a new school for both of them. For Freya it's her first day at 'proper' school. She's in Reception ( she'll be 5 in November) and Charlotte is in year 2 (she'll be 7 in November). They were both very excited and apparently the first two days have gone well.
Ah yes,, the required "first day of the new school year" photo... I remember them well -- my own and the ones we took of our kids. I like the idea of school uniforms too!! Very few public schools use the here. Too bad. It makes everyone "equal".
