Bromeliad

This plant, which I think is a type of Bromeliad, is on the front doorstep and has been like this for weeks. Although it's beautiful as it is I keep wondering if it's going to do anything else.

Some of the ones similar to that in Spain have a cream pineapple shaped thing that comes up from the centre.
