Yesterday we went to Constable Country, a part of Suffolk where the English painter John Constable (1776 - 1837) lived and drew inspiration for his paintings. Those of you who are familiar with his work will recognise this as the spot from where he painted The Hay Wain, one of his most famous works. In the painting there's a hay wain in the middle of the water of course.
Well I wouldn't have guessed this was the exact spot Sue, probably the trees are bigger but it's a great place to visit & very beautiful. Bet there were lots of dragonflies!
Lovely shot, it looks slightly more flooded these days. Just think if they had had cameras back in Constable's days he may have photographed the scene instead of painted it.
I have a large copy of Constable's "The Hay Wain" on my lounge wall, it was a moving in present some some 30 years ago. Looks just as idyllic today. FAV
