As we were driving down to London just before Christmas I said to Chris that I would like an amaryllis in the kitchen because I love to watch them grow. I suggested that on the way home, after Christmas, we might stop at a garden centre and see if there were any in the sale. As it happened I got two as gifts. Chris has just potted them for me.
