Those of you who figured out that I was standing at one end of the viaduct looking through the middle to the far end were spot on! Well done. This similar photo with Martha on gives an idea of scale. It really is a breathtaking feat of engineering, and to think it was built nearly 200 years ago! What's more, to this day a high speed train crosses it every few minutes. I guess they built things to last in those days.
